FinClear, the Australian clearing, settlement and wealth management technology and service provider, today announced Andrea Marani had joined as Group Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Marani comes to FinClear from OpenMarkets, where he was CEO for more than three years. His extensive financial services career spans more than 20 years and includes senior management and executive roles at firms such as Shaw & Partners, Wilson HTM, Global Trader, Rabobank, Bankers Trust, JP Morgan and Investec.

FinClear CEO David Ferrall said he was very proud to be able to attract such extensive talent to the team. “Andrea has been instrumental in not only growing OpenMarkets client base over previous years but also promoting operational efficiencies and technology/API capabilities, which are more important than ever in the current environment,” he said. “I’m delighted that FinClear’s profile and track record have been impressive enough to bring an outstanding executive like Andrea on board.”

Mr Marani assumes operational management responsibility for the entire FinClear group including the technology operations and client service teams in the Melbourne office, and the operational aspects of the Sydney team, from his base in Melbourne.

“I’m looking forward to helping the FinClear team achieve their impressive growth targets off the back of some tremendous success to date,” he said. “I really like FinClear’s HIN-based, client-to-clearing-house model, which is ideal for the Australian marketplace.”
