At FinClear, technology and progress are in our DNA. We are an independent, Australian owned and developed technology and financial services business, specialising in providing trading, execution, clearing and technology solutions to wholesale intermediaries, FinTech’s, wealth managers and financial planners.

Our Financial Markets infrastructure could be likened to other major global platforms that deal with massive amounts of data and huge volumes of transactions that are executed in real time to a vast audience. But unlike others, we own our own regulatory and technology infrastructure enabling us to partner closely and move quickly to build solutions that are fit for purpose to better assist our clients.

FinClear was established in 2005 with offices now in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. We’ve almost tripled in size since the middle of 2021 and have further plans to grow with more platforms and services in the pipeline to be released. We have accomplished a lot, but our sights are set on what we haven’t done, and that’s the competitive advantage we offer to our clients and our people!

The Opportunity:

Due to rapid growth and further plans for expansion, we have created a new and exciting position for a Senior Finance Manager to join us on our journey.

Reporting directly to the CFO, we require someone to lead a team of eleven responsible for:

  • Month end close process, Reporting
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Accounts payable, Billing, Taxes, and payroll

What you’ll do:

The Senior Finance Manager at FinClear achieve its purpose by:

  • Leading, developing and overseeing a growing team of eleven
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager on strategic projects and day-to-day operations
  • Ensuring all obligations of the Finance function are being met, including:
    • Activities being performed and operating as expected
    • Timeliness and accuracy of all deliverables
    • Meeting regulatory obligations, and
    • General ledger control is in place
  • Communicating monthly results to senior management, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the results and drivers
  • Providing Financial Planning and Analysis support for Board meeting materials, investor presentations and investor relations
  • Reviewing in detail the annual budget and monthly forecasts, with the ability to present the outcomes and explanations to senior management
  • Identifying needs and implementing:
    • Internal controls across the function
    • Process improvement to increase efficiencies across the finance function
  • Leading finance transformation projects
  • Overseeing all external audit engagements, speaking directly with the auditors for any significant accounting areas or material transactions
  • Answering queries from and working closely with team leaders throughout the business for any topics or projects that may have a financial impact
  • Oversee tax compliance, liaise with tax advisors
  • Initiatives driven by the Senior Finance Manager

To succeed in this role, we envisage the successful Senior Finance Manager to have 2 or more of the the following experience/ qualifications/ ability listed below:

  • CA qualified
  • 9+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years of management experience
  • A background in Financial Services or Technology industry
  • Experience auditing for one of the Big 4
  • Finance Transformation experience
  • Led people
  • Able to demonstrate strong stakeholder and vendor partnerships
  • Share learnings from effective operation of internal controls
